Winch House is about to start another "Intro to Computers" course this week. If you're quick, you can join in and get yourself confident with the basics.
This is a friendly course aimed at the inexperienced and the beginner. You get hands-on practice with up-to-date computers, or you are welcome to bring your own.
- how to properly start up and shut down a computer
- get an idea of what different types of devices are available and which would suit your needs best
- learn about the internet, browsers, and using the web safely
- practice the ins and outs of email so you can keep in touch or do paperwork
- create documents such as letters that you can print or email
This is a pre-accredited course which aims to prepare you for finding work, getting a better job, or starting a course that will get you a certificate/qualification.
Intro to Computers is also great if you're just getting the hang of technology because you want to keep in touch with friends & relatives, and let's face it - you have no choice these days, bureaucracy and many organisations expect you to do things online.
There are 6 sessions (2 each week), and the cost is only $120. The course starts 9:30am on Wednesday 6th March.
Limited numbers, so get in touch with Wendy (Winch House manager) on 5267 2028 or reception@winchhouse.org.au, or simply drop in before 2pm.
